I really liked this book a lot! Although it grossed me out really thinking about what was in those waters after the hurricane hit in New Orleans. I guess I knew it was bad, but I never really actually thought about what could be in it. Gross! As that was such a historical event, I'm sure we all have our own Hurricane Katrina or Rita stories. That was such a weird summer.
The book really did a good job of describing the destruction and how the people actually dealt with it going through the storm. When Shay went out on her own and the things that she saw and went through were spot on.
For the most part, the pages just flew by with all the threats and the warnings. The e-mails from Michael Brown were especially humorous. He gets an e-mail with a list of things that are wrong and his reply is "Anything I can do?". What a mess! I do think the ending was a little long trying to catch the con artist, but it wasn't bad. Just a little slower than the rest of the book.
All in all, I really enjoyed the book a lot and am telling all my friends, especially down here on the Gulf Coast, that's it is definitely one to read.
