This was a story of a 40 something woman who left Midland, Texas (who wouldn't) and went to Hollywood earlier in life and had somewhat made it. She was getting roles, paying her bills and things were going pretty well. She wasn't on the A or B list, but she making ends meet. Until one day when the wife of her director (who she thought was getting a divorced) came on set assaulted her and had her removed from the set.
Now, it's back to Midland with her tail tucked and everything she'd gained lost. Or was it?
I really liked this book, a lot. It was very entertaining. This girl had 3 guys in Midland vying for her affections (well, let's count out Curt because he's a scuzzball) and a summer job teaching drama at the local high school where she went as a girl.
The story was definitely entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I would definitely recommend reading it to anyone. There are some crazy characters though. The family get together's are a hoot. I would definitely recommend this book to any of my friends.
