This book took a while for me to get into, a long while. There seemed to be lots of conversations and things going on that didn't really have anything to do with the story. Then it was going from Pen's 15 year old self to present day to her university year. Unfortunately, the book started out telling me what I was going to be reading and then later in the book, it would switch without any warning. Very confusing to keep up with. And at the end with the diary situation, there was no warrant, so that would have been inadmissible.
The overall story was a good one, but the way it was told was just so confusing, that I really wasn't able to get the full gist of it until I was done reading it and I had put the pieces together. So for me, I'm going to have to say it was just okay.
Thanks Random House and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.
